Why Jesus taught in parables

Answer Text:
1.He used parables to attract attention of his listeners.
2.He used parables to sort out serious listeners from those who were not serious.
3.He wanted his listeners to think critically.
4.At other times Jesus used parables to conceal his true identity as the promised Messiah.
5.He wanted to avoid direct confrontation with Pharisees, Sadducees and the scribes.
6.He used parables to explain unfamiliar messages in a language that his listeners would understand.
7. Most of the parables had specific teachings about the kingdom of God. Many parables revealed that kingdom of God had come through Jesus Christ e.g. the parable of mastered seed (Lk.13:18-21)
8.Most of them make people understand how they should relate with one another e.g. the parable of the good Samaritan.
9. Because Jesus was a gifted teacher, (Rabbi), the use of parables was also natural to him.
10.It was a common way of teaching in Palestine during the time of Jesus. 11.Some parables explained the nature of invisible God.e.g parable of prodigal son.
