An open cylindrical water reservoir of radius 10.5 metres has a curved surface area of 198 m2. The reservoir is to be cemented on all its inside surfaces at a cost of sh 400 per square metre.
a) Taking π=22/7, determine
(i) the height of the reservoir.
(ii) the cost of cementing the reservoir.
b) On completion the reservoir is filled by 4 similar pipes of internal radius 3.5 cm each. Water flows through each pipe at the rate of 1.5 metres per second. Calculate the time in hours and minutes it takes to fill the reservoir.
