The Prime Minister as we have already seen is usually the leader of the political party with majority seats in parliament.

-Heads the Council of Ministers and government.
-Advises the President in the exercise of his/her functions.
-Represents India in international fora.
-Communicates to the President all decisions of the Council of Ministers, relating to the administration of the affairs of the Union and proposals for the legislation.
