-The Europeans introduced their systems of administration such as the direct rule, indirect and assimilation.
-Loss of independence.
-Modern African states boundaries were drawn during the partition.
-African rulers lost their authority to colonial powers e.g. Kabaka Mwanga of the Buganda and Samori Toure of Mandiko.
-Africa was given to chattered companies to administer on behalf of the colonizing powers.
-Administrative forts and posts from where Europeans administered were established.
