The diagram shows the frustum of a right pyramid made by cutting off small pyramid halfway up the vertical height of the original pyramid. The frustum stands on a rectangular base measuring 24cm by 10cm while the removed pyramid stands on a rectangular base measuring 12cm by 5 cm.
Given that the slant height of the original pyramid is 28cm, calculate
a) To one decimal place the vertical height of the original pyramid.
b) The volume of the frustum.
