(a) (i) To investigate how ants respond to moisture.
(ii) Concentrated sodium hydroxide/concentrate sulphuric acid.
(iii) The colour of cobalt (II) chloride paper remains blue, all moisture/ water vapour was absorbed in the flask by the drying agent.
(b) Ants respond positively to moisture hence more ants moved to flask 2 caused cobalt chloride paper to turn pink.
