Definition of drugs
-A drug may be defined as any substance which when taken into living organisms may alter some of their functions.
-Drugs may include everything that the organism ingests, inhales, absorbs or is
injected into the blood
stream.
-Other drugs are used externally as liquids, lotions, ointment or powder.
-Some drugs are used in prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases, while others are used for the pleasant effect they produce.
-Today, drugs are widely used to cure illnesses, but they have also been misused and caused pain and suffering to the victims and their families.
-There are numerous reports in both the print and electronic media of problems related to drugs abuse including death.
