Answer Text:
Secular attitude to work
Secular work refers to the kind of work done by people that is not governed by any religious principles, be they Christian or traditional African values.
In the secular world, people’s attitudes to work are different from those of Christians or traditional African communities. The attitudes are determined by the following factors:
-People work for personal gain and gratification
-Work is a commodity to be sold to the highest bidder.
-Negative attitude to work.
-Level of education: Most people in Kenya and the world at large have received formal education and training. Usually the higher the level of education and training, the higher the salary.
-Availability of opportunities: People are offered employed depending on the opportunities in the job market.
-Stiff competition: In the work scene there is stiff competition as people try to protect their jobs or move up the ladder of success.
