Traditional African and Christian response to misuse of family resources as a family problem:
-In some families one of the spouses might misuse family resources to such an extend that other members of the family suffer.
- In some cases, husbands may spend their time and money on alcohol and other women.
- There are some cases where family property like land or house are sold by the head of the family when other members are unaware. In traditional African communities family resources such as land and livestock are acquired through inheritance.
- The resources are carefully looked after for future generations.
-The man, as the head of a family, is supposed to take care of his family and its property.
-Christian families should appreciate the resources God has given them because they are blessings.
- They should be good stewards of what God has given them.
-They should therefore not misuse family resources, for example, through drunkenness but use them for good of all members of the family.
