Answer Text:
Respect as a Christian value that enhances a just society:
Respect is the quality of recognizing other people’s rights, status and circumstances. It covers self-respect and the respect of others. Some of the people we respect are parents, teachers, religious and political leaders. We respect
our parents because they provide for our needs and appreciate us. They also guide us and train us to acquire social and religious values. We respect our teachers because they provide us with knowledge, skills and good counsels that will enable us grow in a healthy way and contribute to the creation of a just society. Respect is a
Christian value that we treat other people with honour and appreciation. God in the Bible commands us to respect our parents so that we may be blessed with long life (Exodus 20:12). He also commands us to respect others by treating them justly.
