Answer Text:
Jesus told this parable to Pharisees who were sure of their own goodness and despised others, Jesus told them of a parable a Pharisee and a tax collector .Both went to the Temple to pray .The Pharisee prayed to God saying that he was righteous,
that is, “I thank God am not greedy, dishonest, or an adulterer, like everybody else”. I thank you am like the tax collector. “I fast two days a week, and give a tenth of my income”. But the tax collector stood at a distance and would not even raise his head to heaven. The tax collector confessed that him, he was a sinner and asked God to have mercy on him .The tax collector was in the right relationship with God. Jesus concludes by saying that those who make themselves great will be humbled and those who humble themselves will be made great.
