a)Reabsorption of materials in the kidney tubules is by active transport that requires energy. Increasing blood PH affects enzyme optimum PH range slowing down the rate of enzyme activity or cause enzymes to denature. This slow down the rate of respiration, less energy produced lowers the rate of reabsorption of materials by active transport.
