The Locus of points at a Given Distance from a given straight line.
In two Dimensions:
In two dimensions, the locus of points a cm from a fixed straight line is given by two lines on either side of the fixed line and parallel to it. Example 1 Draw a line MN and its locus which is 2cm from it.
In three Dimensions:
In three dimensions the locus of point ‘a’ centimeters from a line MN is a cylindrical shell of radius ‘a’ cm, with MN as the axis of rotation.
