Chapter Summary of Blossoms of the Savannah

BLOSSOMS OF THE SAVANNAH
BY OLE KULET
CHAPTER NINE
Joseph Parmaut begun to coach Resian and Taiyo in traditional song and dance. Resian’s interest quickly fizzles and stops the coaching since her unquenchable desire was in university education which this coaching could not substitute. Joseph Parmuat continues to educate them about Nasila culture which later ignites Resian’s interest.
One day, before their lesson, Taiya goes to Joseph Parmuat’s house, knocks, receives no answer and just storms even though he wasn’t home. He returns finding him in his bedroom. She apologies for the intrusion and then confronts Joseph and declares her love for him. Josheph for not wanting to hurt her says that he loves him too. They briefly discuss their feels and its implications in regard to their culture. They both agree to bare the consequences of their confessions but later when Joseph returns home, he realizes that he is not ready to turn his back on Nasila culture.
