Resian is overly optimistic that her sister, Taiyo will convince their father to allow her get enrolled at the Egerton University. Her mother brings about the topic of F.G.M which surprises her. She then gets opportunity to categorically share her view that FGM is being used as a tool by men to oppress the women. Their conversation is disrupted by a knock of a man, Edward Oloisudori who visits them.
Resian is uncomfortable with the way Oloisudori looks at her and reports to her mother who instead scorns her for talking ill about the visitor. Kaelo returns home and due Resian’s obvious nervousness, he call her names. She discovers that her father had some kind of desperation and fear for Oloisudori. She walks to the gate and finds her sister sited next to Joseph Parmuat on a log. She goes to find out whether her sister was successful in persuading their father to allow her enroll to the university. She tells her how it has proven...
