-The formation of United Nations Organization in 1945. Its chatter supported the spirit of selfdetermination of all people.
-The emergence of USA and USSR as super powers and their anti-colonial stand. They pressurized colonial powers to decolonize.
-World war II and its aftermath: it caused economic ruin to Britain and influenced her to decolonize in order to cut cost of maintaining colonies like Kenya.
-Collapse of the Britain Empire: the attainment of independence of the former Britain colonies such as India and Pakistan (1947) and Ghana (1957) inspired the Kenyan nationalist to step up the struggle as they realized that independence was achievable.
-India and Ghana gave material and moral support to the Kenyan nationalist, which speeded up the attainment of independence.
